Each year the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) recognizes social workers, public citizens, and elected officials whose work in service of their communities reflects the values of the social work profession. This year, Recorder Brandon McClain was selected as the 2020 Region 7 Public Elected Official of the Year.
NASW Ohio Region 7 includes Darke, Champaign, Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties in southwestern Ohio. McClain was nominated based upon his dedication to the wellbeing of his constituency- specifically regarding his community-based outreach with veterans, youth and seniors.
“It truly means a lot to me to have my public service recognized,” stated McClain. “My goal is and has always been to serve others, which is why it was so unexpected to be nominated for this award.”
