Fuyao Glass America has been awarded with the Montgomery County Solid Waste District Business Incentive Grant. The grant, in the amount of $32,734.10, will go towards the purchase of four vertical downstroke balers to be used to assist in the collection, sorting, and compacting of recyclable materials generated during production and distribution of automotive glass. In addition to the $32,734.10 grant, Fuyao will match the grant in the amount of $14,028.90, for a total project amount of $46,763.00.

This is not the first time Fuyao has been a recipient of the Solid Waste District’s Business Incentive Grant. The Corporation was awarded this grant back in 2015 for $29,897.00, which was used to purchase a stationary compaction unit, cart dumping system, and monitoring system to be used as the primary processing equipment for Old Corrugated Containers (OCC).

This equipment was placed in the on-site recycling collection center at Fuyao’s Moraine, OH facility, and allows for effective recovery and recycling of OCC. Fuyao also matched the 2015 grant with $12,812.73, for a total project amount of $42,709.73.

Montgomery County Solid Waste District offers grant funding to increase recycling at local businesses. Funds are available on a competitive basis to all Montgomery County businesses. A total of $150,000 is available for the program, including $120,000 to fund capital equipment purchases and $30,000 for new recycling service contracts. Additionally, capital equipment purchase grants require a 30% cash match by businesses.

The Business Incentive Grant funding can be used for any of the following projects:

  • Capital equipment purchases to initiate or expand recycling
  • New or expanded contracts for on-site recycling service
  • Composting service
  • Equipment, materials, and software purchases to increase or expand operations for recycling processors
