Montgomery County lifts water system boil advisory

County system contaminant tests results are negative

The water boil advisory for Montgomery County water customers is canceled. County water customers no longer need to boil water prior to consumption.

“We are so grateful to the community for our combined response to this crisis,” said the Montgomery County Commissioners Debbie Lieberman, Carolyn Rice, and Judy Dodge. “Experts from utility services, law enforcement, fire service, health care, and emergency operations, as well as community partners such as the Dayton Foodbank, Red Cross, Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association, Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County, Trotwood Fire Department and local churches, did a phenomenal job coming together to serve the community and our citizens.”

As of 12:40 p.m. today, all water samples collected by the County were absent of bacteria.

It is recommended that customers run tap water for at least three minutes to remove any air bubbles, mineral build up, or lead that may have leached into pipes prior to use, according to Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County.

The Dayton Foodbank is still providing bottled water between 1-4 p.m. at 56 Armor Place. Montgomery County water customers experiencing any additional water concerns should call (937) 781-2688.
