BrandonMcClainPhotoIn November 2018, Brandon C. McClain was elected the 34th Montgomery County Recorder.  Recorder McClain graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice; the University of Cincinnati with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice; and the University of Dayton College of Law with a Juris Doctor.  He is also a veteran, having served as a non-commissioned officer in the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant, prior to his honorably discharged.

Mr. McClain was admitted to the practice of law in the state of Ohio (2011), as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio (2011) and the United States Tax Court (2012).  His professional affiliations include but are not limited to him being a Magistrate's Association, the Dayton Bar Association Ethics Committee, and Chairman of the Dayton Bar Association's Diversity Issues Subcommittee.  Mr. McClain's legal experience varies from being an Acting Judge and Magistrate in the Dayton Municipal Court, to being an Assistant Public Defender in the Montgomery County Public Defender's Office.  He was also a Principal Attorney in McClain Anastasi LLC and an intern at the Cincinnati Prosecutor's Office.

Since being appointed in March 2018, Recorder McClain has initiated two key programs:  the Veterans Identification Card Program and the Fraud Alert Notification System.  Additionally, he serves on the Dayton Public Schools Operational Advisory Committee, the Board of Trustees for the Dayton Bar Association, the Mary Scott Nursing Center Board of Directors, and the Sinclair Community College Paralegal Program Advisory Committee.  Recorder McClain is a member at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.
