 Lyons Road Bridge Replacement

Montgomery County Engineer Paul Gruner announces that work on the replacement of the Lyons Road Bridge over the Holes Creek will begin. The contractor, Brumbaugh Construction, has tentatively set Monday, July 12, as the beginning of the road closures, depending on weather. Construction of the new bridge and associated road work will last until November 12, 2021. Lyons Road will be closed from
approximately 150 feet west of the bridge to the intersection of Lyons Road and Yankee Street. The detour for westbound Lyons Road is south along Yankee Street, west along Spring Valley Pike, and north along Washington Church Road. The detour for eastbound Lyons Road is north on State Route 741, east on State Route 725, and south along Yankee Street. Businesses at the east end of the project, at the intersection of Lyons Road and Yankee Street, will be accessed from their Yankee Street entrances. All other businesses along Lyons Road will be accessible from Lyons Road.

Lamme Road Bridge Replacement and Road Improvement

This Project will improve Lamme Road, from Alex-Bell Road to Bushwick Drive and a small area at the intersection of Alex-Bell Road east of Lamme Road, in Miami Township. The main focus of this project will be the replacement of the bridge (Bridge #MOT-175-1.37) over Holes Creek, which will include the installation of sidewalks on the new bridge. Lamme Road pavement will be milled and resurfaced from Alex Bell Road to Bushwick Drive. The traffic signal at the intersection of Lamme Road and Alex-Bell Road will be replaced, as well as deteriorated sections of curb and sidewalk along the east side of Lamme Road, south of Holes Creek, and along the north side of Alex-Bell Road at the corner. It is anticipated that the project will begin in April of 2023. Due to the replacement of the bridge over Holes Creek, the section of Lamme Road within the Project area will be closed to all but local vehicular traffic.  Pedestrian traffic, however, will be maintained on the bridge during the Project’s construction, which will take approximately 8 months.

Should you have questions regarding the project please contact Rex Dickey of the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office at (937) 225-4904 or LammeRoad@mcohio.org.

Peters Pike & Lower Miamisburg Road Culvert Replacement Project, MIA-CO125-2.90

The Montgomery County Engineer is proposing to construct a project called the Peters Pike and Lower Miamisburg Road Culvert Replacement Project, located in Butler Township and Miami Township, Job #2019-11.
