The Excellence in Scanning Award is presented annually by Auditor Karl Keith to a Montgomery County business that has shown excellence in price verification (scanning) inspections throughout the year. Weights and measures inspectors recommend businesses that pass scanning tests, have been cooperative with the inspection procedures, and have worked hard to ensure their customers are treated fairly. These inspectors perform price verifications each year at local retailers to confirm posted item prices match prices at the checkout.
