Tax Incentive Review Councils
Tax Incentive Review Councils (TIRCs) for Montgomery County's many jurisdictions meet annually to determine if the businesses and individuals who have entered into property tax exemption agreements are meeting certain requirements, such as job-creation pledges. Each council then makes a recommendation to the jurisdiction's elected body about whether those agreements should be continued. Each council is made up of community members as well as representatives from local governments such as townships, cities, schools and libraries.
The TIRCs meet annually in March in the third floor conference room at the Montgomery County Administration Building.
The Budget Commission is a three-member commission including the County Auditor, Prosecuting Attorney, and Treasurer. The Budget Commission meets to determine the county's distribution of the Ohio Local Government Fund and Public Library Fund. It also has authority to review the tax budgets of local jurisdictions and determine that tax levies are properly authorized.
By statute, the Budget Commission meets on the first Monday in February and the first Monday in August. Traditionally in Montgomery County, these meetings serve to schedule a full meeting on a later date in August. Budget Commission meetings take place in the third floor conference room at the Montgomery County Administration Building.
Data Processing Board: Wednesday, February 8 at 9 a.m. in the County Administration Building's 6th floor conference room.
