Paying and Receiving Child Support
All payments are processed by Ohio’s Child Support Payment Central. Approved payments are processed within two business days. Under Ohio law, direct payments to the custodial parent are considered a gift.
Support recipients can get payments through an e-QuickPay Debit MasterCard or by direct deposit into their checking or savings account. The e-QuickPay card works like a regular debit card. For more information, go to www.E-QuickPay.com.
In Ohio, 74% of child support collections are received through income withholding, a process of taking funds directly from a parent’s income each pay period. Child support can be withheld from many sources including:
- Personal earnings
- Workers’ compensation
- Unemployment benefits
- Disability pay
Support can also be seized through lump sum orders, tax returns or financial institution garnishments. People who are self-employed, and not working as independent contractors, may request that support be withheld from their bank account.
- Pay at the CSEA (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm). Our payment window is located in The Job Center, 1111 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH 45422. We accept payments by cash, debit card, money order, or certified/personal check.
- Pay by MAIL. Send a check to Ohio Child Support Payment Central (CSPC), P.O. Box 182372, Columbus, OH 43218-2372. You must include your SSN & your SETS case on your check (your 10-digit case number starting with “7”).
- Pay ONLINE by debit card or bank account EFT at https://oh.smartchildsupport.com.
- Pay at participating MONEYGRAM retailers (online or in person): Search “Find a Location” at www.moneygram.com, enter your zip code, and select “Pay a Bill.” Retailers include CVS, Walmart, Speedway, and 7-Eleven. Ohio’s MoneyGram code is: 14674. There is flat $3.99 fee for cash payments, with higher fees for online/credit card payments.
You can check payments 24 hours a day by calling the Interactive Voice Response system (IVR) at 1-800-860-2555. To obtain specific case information such as credit balance or arrears balance, users must enter their Social Security Number.

Effective October 1, 2005, Ohio implemented a law (HB66) requiring a mandatory electronic disbursement program for support payments, providing you a faster, simpler, safer way to receive your support payments.
- Direct Deposit -- With direct deposit, your support payments are deposited directly to your account at your financial institution. The statement you receive from your financial institution will provide you with a record of your deposit.
- Ohio smiONE™ Balance and transfer information -- Cardholders can access their available balance and transaction history securely at https://www.smionecard.com. Cardholders may also access balance and transaction information by calling Ohio smiONE™ Customer Support at 1-855-279-2744.
