Montgomery County Public Records Policy

It is the policy of Montgomery County that openness leads to a better informed citizenry, which leads to better government and better public policy. Montgomery County records are to be organized and maintained so that they are readily available for public inspection and copying.

Per the Ohio Public Records Law, each county office has a public records policy adapted to the policies of its office. The policy will be displayed prominently in the public area of the office. The public records policy establishes guidelines for responding to public records requests and announces what will be charged for copies.

The Records Center and Archives Public Records Policy (PDF) is an example of a public records policy to be found in a county office.
