County Imaging Center

Housed within the Records Center and Archives, the Imaging Center assists offices by scanning and digitizing paper records, thus reducing the amount of paper in county offices while giving the offices their records back in an accessible electronic format. The Imaging Center backs records up on archival microfilm, insuring that long-term, permanent records will be preserved into the future. It can also create digital files from microfilm.

Offices and agencies not funded through the General Fund are charged according to a rate schedule adopted by the Microfilming Board. Non-county governmental agencies may also contract with the county for this service.

The Imaging Center stores all master negative film in an environmentally-controlled vault. Stored in the proper conditions, the county's microfilm is expected to last 300 to 500 years.
