"Weights and Measures may be ranked among the necessaries of life to every individual of human society." - John Quincy Adams, 1821
The purpose of the Montgomery County Auditor's weights and measures program is to assure that equity prevails in the marketplace for both buyer and seller. The Auditor's officials work to ensure integrity of all commercial weights and measures in the county by inspecting over 5,000 gas pumps, testing more than 2,000 scales, checking over 250 packages and performing scanning tests on over 18,000 items at more than 340 retailers each year.
All our weights and measures inspectors are certified by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Division of Weights and Measures.
Consumer Complaints
Weights and measures inspectors also rely on information from consumers to keep the marketplace fair. Please don't hesitate to make use of the consumer complaint form or the report bad gasoline form to tell us about any problems you've encountered in the local marketplace.
