Stillwater Center Respite Care
Stillwater Center provides out-of-home respite care for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities with significant medical acuity and/or persons with substantial functional limitations in self-care, self-direction, communication, mobility, learning capacity for independent living, and economic self-sufficiency. Respite services are limited to 30 days per year, per person.
The initial request for respite care should be made two weeks in advance. Application for respite care is approved based on the ability to accommodate and in the order of family requests. For more specific information and/or to arrange a tour of the facility contact the Social Services Department at 890-0646, extension 1152.
Stillwater Center Replacement Facility
A newly constructed building was opened in April 2003. The facility consists of 100,000 square feet, and 106 beds; consisting of a 30-bed main facility, two 16-bed homes, and five 12-bed homes. The homes are designed specifically for Stillwater's resident population. All services are provided on a ground floor; buildings are adjacent and interconnected, with some private, mostly semi-private rooms, quality bathing, and grooming areas, and family and living/dining rooms in each home.
