Calling all student artists! Do you have a passion for the environment and a love for art? We need you for the Montgomery County Environmental Calendar. This contest is sponsored by Montgomery County Environmental Services and is open to all Montgomery County Kindergarten through 12th-grade students. Students are asked to create an original piece of art that supports each year's selected themes.

One winner will have their art featured on the calendar cover and receive $2,500 for their school! Each winner selected for a month cover will receive $500 for their school, and six honorable mentions will earn their school $250!

How to Enter the Calendar Contest

Students must include the following information on the back of their artwork:

Your full name, complete address, and current grade
Teacher's name and school's name, with the school's complete address
Student's email address

2024 Environmental Calendar Contest Sponsors

We are pleased to invite your business or organization to sponsor the Environmental Calendar Contest. Over the past 17 years, this contest has grown in popularity and received a National Association of Counties Achievement Award and both a City and County Communications Award for Best Publication. Past Environmental Calendar Contest Winners

Recycled Art Contest

Get ready to create! Recyclable materials are an important resource, and we want to show them off. This contest is sponsored by Montgomery County Environmental Services and encourages Kindergartner through 12th-grade students to create a unique piece of art from recyclable materials! Students may submit individually or as a team of two to four.

The Recycled Art Contest begins February 1 and the deadline to submit your artwork is April 8. Completed entries must be dropped off at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery on Wednesday, May 3, or Thursday, May 4.

The Recycled Art award ceremony will be held at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery on Saturday, May 6, 2023. To register, view the Submit Recycled Art page for more information.
