The Montgomery County Clerk of Courts is a complex organization that serves the Common Pleas Court, General Division; Domestic Relations Court; County Municipal Courts; and the Second District Court of Appeals. The Auto Title Division offers a wide variety of services including titling of motor vehicles and processing passport applications.

Common Pleas Court - General Division

Montgomery County Common Pleas Court - General Division is a court of general jurisdiction overseeing all felony criminal cases in the county, including death penalty matters, and civil actions over $15,000, including business disputes and medical malpractice cases. Eleven elected judges serve on the bench.

Common Pleas Court - Juvenile Division is a Court of law dedicated to the task of upholding the Constitution and administering the laws of our land in a just and equal manner.

Since 1976, the Montgomery County Law Office of the Public Defender has provided effective legal representation to citizens accused of criminal conduct that can result in a loss of freedom. We provide these legal services to all persons and base qualification decisions solely on economic status.
