New Employees

Welcome to Montgomery County!

As a new employee, you have 30 days from your day of hire to enroll in benefits. Benefits will be effective the 1st of the month following your date of hire!

  1. Submit a completed Enrollment Form and any required Dependent Documentation to Human Resources at [email protected] within 30 calendar days of your hire date.
  2. If you do not submit an enrollment form within 30 calendar days of your hire/transfer date, you will have no insurance coverage. The only way to enroll at a later date is if you experience a Qualified Life Event or during the next open enrollment period.
  3. Use our New Employee Checklist to make sure you've submitted everything required to enroll in our benefits. 

Benefit Orientation

You could also attend a live Benefit Orientation which takes place twice a month at the Administration Building. Check Upcoming Events for a schedule. 

Don't need medical benefits?

You may qualify for a Waiver Credit if you are covered under another employer plan, a spouse's plan, or your parent's plan. If you want to waive medical insurance coverage and receive a waiver credit, complete and return a Verification of Employer-Sponsored Health Coverage.
