Healthcare/Medical FSA

  • Available if you are not covered under a Montgomery County health plan, or if you are covered under a Montgomery County health plan but are not eligible to contribute to the Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Use to pay expenses for medical, dental, and vision services.
  • IRS limit of $3,050 annually.
  • Annual rollover up to $610.00 is permitted. All other funds must be used within the plan year.
  • Upon separation from the County, funds must be used within 90 days of your last day of employment. Any remaining funds will be forfeited.


Limited Purpose FSA

  • Available if you contribute to Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Expenses are limited to dental and vision services.
  • IRS limit of $3,050 annually.
  • Annual rollover up to $610.00 is permitted. All other funds must be used within the plan year.
  • Upon separation from the County, funds must be used within 90 days of your last day of employment. Any remaining funds will be forfeited.

Dependent Care FSA

  • Montgomery County will match up to $2,500, dollar for dollar 
  • The dependent care FSA will reimburse claims for expenses like before and after school care, care provided at a licensed daycare center, summer day camp, private babysitter, and preschool for dependents under the age of 13.
  • IRS limit of $5,000 if single or married filing jointly tax return; $2,500 if married filing separately, including the match
  • Use it or lose it account; No funds will rollover.
  • Up separation from the County, funds must be used within 90 days of your last day of employment. Any remaining funds will be forfeited.
