Recycled Sculpture Contest
Recycling Rocks! Submit your artistic sculpture in the 20th Annual Recycled Sculpture Contest. The purpose of the contest is to promote environmental awareness among students while encouraging artistic and creative thinking.
The contest is open to all Montgomery County students in grades K-12. Schools must register to submit sculptures to County level. Sculptures must be designed and built by students with a focus on the use of recyclable materials that have been reclaimed or are scraps for reuse - not new materials purchased for the creation of the project.
Sculptures may be created by individuals or teams of two to four students (one entry per student).
Sculptures will be judged on:
Number of Recyclable Categories used (i.e., wood, paper, plastic, metals—Glass is NOT permitted)
Percent of sculpture made from recycled materials
Originality (Sculpture can be realistic or abstract)
Design and artistic impact (WOW factor)
Complexity of sculpture
