Building Maintenance and Parks Division Overview
This division, under the Administrative Services Department, is responsible for the maintenance, cleaning and grounds care for the majority of the buildings owned and operated by the Board of County Commissioners. This includes over 20 facilities totaling approximately 1,300,000 square feet of occupied space. Daily responsibilities include: custodial service, facility maintenance and repairs, tenant space renovations, project management and grounds care.
This division is also responsible for the maintenance and operation of three regional County parks, they are: Art Van Atta, Arthur O. Fisher, Madison Lakes. These parks comprise approximately 575 Total acres and include 23 acres of ponds, 11 picnic shelters, 16 tennis courts, 7 basketball courts, 9 ball diamonds, 6 sets of playground equipment, 2 concession stands, a disk golf course and over 2 miles of paved paths and plenty of hiking trails.
