COMMUNITY-SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA):

Community-supported agriculture is an alternative, locally-based economic model of agriculture and food distribution. One in which the consumer shares the risks and benefits of local food production. Typically, CSA members pay at the beginning of the growing season for a share of the anticipated harvest.  Some CSAs provide for contributions of labor in lieu of a portion of subscription costs.
