The Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services (MCDJFS) is soliciting Request for Proposals (RFP) for the following service on the date and time listed below: 

Monday June 18, 2012  5:00 p.m.

Cabling Project Services at the Job Center:

To contract with qualified organizations that are bonded, insured and certified in the State of Ohio who have a history of providing commercial building telecommunication wiring/cabling services.

Description of Services:

There are several key components to meeting the goal of this project which are; to remove and replace existing Ethernet cabling within 5 closets located at MCDJFS, collate a color cabling scheme when replacing existing cables, do not disrupt power or the operational flow of equipment during MCDJFS business hours. The project must also comply with all ordinances and codes of the MCDJFS, State of Ohio and City of Dayton. The following scope of work includes components to address the needs of MCDJFS. Responder(s) should be able to fulfill services in these areas

• Utilize CAT 6 550 MHz Ethernet Plenum rated cables with (1,578 total) RJ-45 Jacks (Termination Ends)  
• Replace current patch panels with (84 total) new patch panels with (32 total) ports per panel which corresponds to what is currently in place.
• RJ 45 Jacks for each new patch panel must match color scheme per respective closet.                                                                                                                              
• There are 5 closets, each one requires a corresponding cabling scheme when replacing existing cables (example: Blue closet has blue jacks connected to panel and port at user’s desk).   
• Correct Labeling is essential from point to point of cable – patch panel to user’s desk.
• Ivory 2 port faceplates (789 total) will be needed for each user’s desk; termination jacks should reflect color of closet/patch panel that respective users are connected to.                                                                                                                              
•  Install at minimum, the existing number of cables currently in use at each closet. 
• Install as necessary new wire racks and conduits if capacity is insufficient.                                                                                                                              
•  Remove all old cabling once new cabling is installed.                                                                                                                              
•  Possible second shift work hours may be required starting at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 1:00 a.m. contingent upon ability to relocate staff  during the normal course of business working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Testing is required at the end of each work shift from day to day and requires fully operational equipment and power to begin the next workday.    
• Assess and make additional project recommendations as needed.                                                                                                                            
• The selected responder must be bonded, insured, and certified within the State of Ohio.  

The Mandatory Bidders Conference will be held at the Job Center, Conference Room C2/C3,  with an on-site tour on June 18, 2012 at 5:00 P.M.

A contract awarded as a result of this bid process shall be effective approximately July 23, 2012 through December 31, 2012. The Department retains the option of awarding an additional service plan for two (2) one year extensions commencing January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013 and January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014 with the option for two (2) additional one year extensions commencing January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015 and January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. Any such Contract extension will be based on Contractor’s performance as determined solely by MCDJFS.
