COUNTY OFFICE CHANGES NAME

Office of Family & Children First changes name to Human Services Planning & Development Department 

Dayton, Ohio (December 30, 2014) – The Montgomery County Office of Family & Children First is now known as the Montgomery County Human Services Planning & Development Department.  On Tuesday, December 30, the Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the name change.

“The new name better reflects the broad range of responsibilities we administer and services provided on behalf of children, families and individuals in our community,” said Tom Kelley, Assistant County Administrator – Human Services and the Director of the Human Services Planning and Development Department.  “Our focus will continue to be on collaborating with partners to identify issues of community interest, develop program and funding strategies and administer initiatives to promote community solutions.”

The Human Services Planning & Development Department will continue to provide primary staffing support for the Family and Children First Council, the Human Services Levy Council, the Homeless Solutions Policy Board, the Ex-Offender Reentry Policy Board, the administrative oversight for Stillwater Center and other human services priorities on behalf of the Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners.
