The Dayton Region-Israel Trade Alliance (DRITA) office was established in Israel in April 2010. The DRITA office was originally proposed as part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Dayton Region, represented by the City of Dayton, Montgomery County and the Dayton Development Coalition, and the Municipality of Haifa, Israel, that was signed in September 2009 during the Haifa/Northern Israel trade mission to the Dayton Region. The DRITA Office The Municipality of Haifa and the Haifa Development Corporation are providing office space at the Matam High Tech business park at no cost as their participation in this effort in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding. The Matam is home to leading high tech and defense companies such as Elbit, Philips Medical Systems and Intel Corp. The Haifa Development Corporation office provides a private office, shared conference rooms, a teleconferencing suite, and receptionist, providing a professional environment for the DRITA office. The office is directly adjacent to the train lines, cab service and amenities. The Business Development Director Mr. Uri Attir began work as the DRITA Business Development Director on April 1, 2010. Mr. Attir has a unique blend of qualifications that made him the first choice for the job. He has a chemical engineering degree from the Technion, an MBA for Case Western Reserve, was a lead staff member of the BIRD fund, and CEO of start-up companies in Israel. In addition, Mr. Attir worked for nine years in the Cleveland area, where he met his wife, Sharon. As the DRITA Business Development Director, Mr. Attir initiates and promotes business development activities between Israeli and Dayton Region technology-based companies and organizations. The main goal is that this will result in investments, joint ventures, presence and commercialization in the Dayton Region and Israel. Additional goals include strengthening aerospace business in Ohio and Israel through match-making, entrepreneurship, education, training, business coaching and mentoring.
