    Resources and Incentives

Enterprise Zones are designated areas of land in which businesses can receive tax incentives in the form of tax exemptions on eligible new investments. Only those businesses that are qualified by financial responsibility and business experience to create and preserve jobs within the zone may apply for local tax incentives.  The types of eligible businesses are determined by the community through its policy guidelines.  Substantial investment in either real or personal property is required.

Economic Development/Government Equity (ED/GE Program)   Montgomery County’s ED/GE program is targeted for companies that are going to create/retain jobs in Montgomery County.  Jurisdictions apply on behalf of companies to a 15 member private/public sector committee.  Grant eligibility requires that improvements  remain permanent (e.g. power upgrades, plumbing, parking, etc.) Eligible activities would include land acquisition, site improvements, infrastructure and permanent real property improvements.
