CITY OF UNION ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR 1, 2 AND 3 FAMILY MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL CODE ENFORCEMENT JULY 1, 2009

Effective July 1, 2009, Montgomery County Building Regulations will cease accepting applications or issuing residential electrical and mechanical permits for 1, 2 and 3 family dwellings in the City of Union.  After June 30, 2009, applicants will be referred to Union's building department for all such permits. Note there is no change in commercial code enforcement.  Montgomery County Building Regulations will remain responsible for all commercial building, mechanical, and electrical code enforcement in Union.

To provide orderly transition for contractors and owners in Union, Montgomery County Building Regulations will attempt to inspect and close out all permits issued prior to the transition date.  Any permits not completed out by December 31, 2009 will be cancelled, and Montgomery County Building Regulations will turn those records over to Union for any follow-up necessary.
