    Municipal Cat Control/Sheltering

There exists in Ohio no law governing stray and roaming cats. There are, however, a number of municipalities that do have ordinances concerning loose and free roaming cats. The Shelter has contracts with the following cities: Englewood, Vandalia, Kettering, Trotwood, Huber Heights, Brookville, Miamisburg, and West Carrollton.

Winter Care Tips for Your Pets

-Cats and dogs need protection from the wet and cold.  Inside your house is the best place for them to be.

-A bowl of frozen water can't help a thirsty pet.

-Outdoor animals need more calories during the winter to produce body heat, so increase the amount you feed your pet.

-Chemicals used to melt snow can irritate your pet's paws.

-Antifreeze tastes good to pets, but is a deadly poison.
