On Saturday, October 17, 2009, MONCO Enterprises Inc. Secure Document Destruction (SDD) will host a FREE opportunity to shred personal or confidential documents and papers for any resident of Montgomery County from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at their facility located at 3044 E. River Road, Moraine, Ohio  45439.

Businesses interested in Secure Document Destruction are asked to contact MONCO at (937) 461-0034, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  MONCO provides free tamper-proof, lockable containers for long-term customers, free estimates, compliance with government laws, a Certificate of Destruction, document pick up and a cost effective solution to all your shredding needs.

October is Developmental Disabilities Employment Awareness Month.  The theme for this year's celebration is Ohio Workers with Disabilities: Diverse, Reliable, Good for Business.  The month of October finds people in America recognizing the value of persons with disabilities in employment. July of 2009 found the percentage of people with disabilities in the labor force at 23%, compared to the rate of 71.8% for nondisabled persons in America. There is much to be done in relation to people with disabilities where employment is concerned, this much is plain, and awareness of disability issues in relation to employment is crucial.

MONCO is a not-for profit organization administered by the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services, a Human Services Levy Funded agency, that helps adult individuals with disabilities find employment.  They offer unique and personalized services, based on interests, skills and abilities, to the individuals they serve.

This business is an innovative employment opportunity for people with disabilities.  MONCO has an entire building dedicated to the SDD document shredding process. With the sorting and shredding equipment provided by a $65,000 grant from the Solid Waste District, SDD is able to shred 4,000 lbs of documents per hour.

The MONCO Secure Document Destruction Facility serves as one of the many examples that people with disabilities are ´Just like You.'  They serve the community and work hard for their pay check.
