Summary:
Montgomery County Solid Waste District is proud to announce that the 2009 Awards Reception for the annual Recycle Rally, Keep Montgomery County Beautiful Poetry Contest, and Recycled Sculpture Contest will take place:

10:00 a.m. – Noon, Saturday, May 30th
Wegerzyn Gardens, 1301 E. Siebenthaler Avenue, Dayton

Awards for the following will be presented during the ceremony:

• The Recycle Rally recognizes Montgomery County schools for their recycling efforts. Schools competed from September 1, 2008 until May 3, 2009 to see which school could collect the most recyclable materials. First through third place winners will be announced for each school division of Elementary (K-6), Combined Elementary (K-8), Middle School, and High School.

• The Keep Montgomery County Beautiful Poetry Contest encouraged Montgomery County students in grades 2-12 to express anti-litter messages in a poetry form of their choice. Poems were judged and winners selected for each grade level.

• The Recycled Sculpture Contest included students in grades K-12 for the submission of sculptures made from recyclable materials to their school. The school then chose the top three sculptures in each division to send to the County level competition. Prizes will be awarded in Individual and Team Divisions based on grade levels. All school winning sculptures will be on display during the awards reception.
