Distinguished Employer Award
Summary:
Montgomery County Building Regulations received a "Distinguished Employer" award at the annual Ohio Cooperative Education Association (OCEA) Conference on Thursday, April 30, 2009.
The Ohio Cooperative Education Association recognizes the vital role of employers who provide employment and learning opportunities for co-op and internship students.
Terry Maiwurm from Sinclair Community College nominated Montgomery County for this OCEA Award. Terry states, "A co-op partnership between Montgomery County Building Regulations (Dayton, OH) and Sinclair Community College has been in existence for 25 years. Over those years,
co-op students at Sinclair have been given real world work experience at Montgomery County. Maury Wyckoff, Chief Building Official, has consistently hired Sinclair co-op students for the past 14 years."
According to Maury Wyckoff, "Co-op represents a give back. During my college and early work career, I was given wonderful guidance from a number of mentors. Hiring co-ops today represents a way for Montgomery County and me to give a little back to our co-op students who are just beginning their careers."
