Summary:
The new year is bringing some changes to Montgomery County. On January 30, 2009, Assistant County Administrator Tom Black will retire after 30 years of dedicated service. For the past 12 years, Tom has served as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Under his leadership, O.M.B. has continued to receive the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Award. In fact, 2008 marks the 25th consecutive year that Montgomery County has received this award.
Montgomery County is known for its strong financial team and didn't have to look far for Tom's replacement. Effective February 2, 2009, Budget Manager Tim Nolan will be promoted to O.M.B. Director. Tim has worked in the budget office for 20 years and brings a detailed understanding of county finances and a deep commitment to Montgomery County and its citizens.
2009 will see two more organizational changes. Assistant County Administrator for Economic Development Joe Tuss will become Deputy County Administrator. In addition, Administrative Services Director Amy Wiedeman will become Assistant County Administrator. Both Joe and Amy will not only take on new responsibilities, but will continue to carry out their current duties.
"Montgomery County is extremely fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated management team. In 2009, we will continue the tradition of providing the best possible service for our citizens," said County Administrator Deborah Feldman. |
