Summary:
The Children Services Division of the Montgomery County Department of Job & Family Services has produced a 2009 adoption calendar, which is available free to the public while supplies last.  The calendar profiles 12 of the 70 children currently available for adoption in Montgomery County.

Assistant Children Services Director Gayle Bullard said, "The calendar enables potential adoptive families to learn more about the children in our care.  The 2009 calendar will not only help keep you on schedule, but also help open your heart to the tremendous experience awaiting you as an adoptive parent."

Last year in Montgomery County, 106 adoptions were finalized.  Those needing families are African American children over the age of two; Caucasian children over the age of six; children with behavioral, emotional or learning challenges, children who are part of a sibling group and teenagers.

"They are children who have entered foster care through no fault of their own, as victims of child abuse, neglect or abandonment and their parents' rights have been terminated by the courts," noted Bullard.

The free calendars are available at the Haines Children's Center, 3304 North Main St., Dayton, or at any of the Dayton Metro Libraries.  Calendars may also be ordered on-line at www.mcohio.org/childrenservices/calendar/index.cfm.  For more information about adoption, call 224-KIDS.
