Montgomery County Animal Resource Center Director Receives International Award

Summary:
Earlier this month, Mark Kumpf, the Director of the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center, received the "Outstanding Contribution to Animal Welfare 2008" award from the National Dog Warden Association in the United Kingdom.

The award was presented for his outstanding contributions in dealing with significant animal fighting cases that led to securing numerous convictions that prevented many animal fighters from continuing to allow animals to be abused in their care. Mark was also recognized for promoting education, cooperation and the exchange of ideas internationally in the furtherance of the animal welfare profession.

Mark has been Director of the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center for over two years.  He has received numerous awards in his 20-year animal control career, recently achieving the level of Certified Animal Welfare Administrator with the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators. Mark is also the President of the National Animal Control Association (USA).

The NDWA 25th Awards Ceremony took place October 13th, at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, United Kingdom.
