Restoration, Recovery, and Reentry Conference - Saturday, October 13, 2012

October 13, 2012, it’s on again!!  The Restoration, Recovery, and Reentry Conference has become an annual event hosted by the Montgomery County Volunteer Jail Chaplaincy Ministry. The Restoration, Recovery, and Reentry Conference is designed to attract returning citizens coming home from incarceration, anyone with any type of conviction, the faith community, and community service agencies.

The Conference will kick-off with a free continental breakfast and registration at 8:00 a.m.  Workshops will start at 9:00 a.m. and cover a myriad of topics including Mentoring I & II: Best Practices, Collateral Sanctions: “What it Means to Have a Felony Conviction,” Budgeting- More Month Than Money, and many more.  The free bag lunch will be served with singing from the Monday Choir followed by the Honorable Judge Walter Rice asking and answering “Where Do We Go From Here?” 

A host of community agencies will have informational tables setup all day with brochures about the services they provide.  Donors to this conference have  come from the various sectors of Montgomery County including the United Theological Seminary as the host site, Levin Family Foundation, DP & L, Omega Baptist Church-Social Justice Ministry,  Beth Abraham Synagogue, The Monday Program, CADAS,  the Montgomery County Office of Ex-Offender Reentry and many others.
