FREE Appliance Disposal - June 7, 8 and 9

Dayton, OH (June 6, 2012) – Having trouble getting rid of that old refrigerator, air conditioner, water heater or stove? Montgomery County North and South Solid Waste Facilities will dispose of your old appliances free of charge on June 7, 8 and 9.

Sponsored by Montgomery County Solid Waste District, this free appliance disposal program is available for all Montgomery County residents. This program prevents the illegal dumping of old appliances, promotes recycling, and helps protect our soil and waterways from pollution or contamination.

Once delivered to the North or South Solid Waste Facility, licensed technicians will remove any refrigerant, such as Freon™, free of charge. Metal components will be recycled rather than placed in a landfill.

The Solid Waste District does not accept microwaves, small countertop appliances or outdoor grills as part of this program, but these items are accepted as general trash for a fee.

Appliances will be accepted at the following locations, and during the following times:

North Solid Waste Facility

6589 Old Webster St., Vandalia, OH

South Solid Waste Facility

1001 Encrete Lane, Moraine, OH

June 7 and 8           6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

June 9                    8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Solid Waste District also accepts appliances throughout the year for a small fee. For additional information, call the RECYCLE HOTLINE at (937) 225-4999, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
