2012 Dayton Regional Green 3 (DRG3) Forum - Monday, April 2, 2012

The 2012 Dayton Regional Green 3 (DRG3) Forum will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. – Noon at the University of Dayton River Campus, 1700 S. Patterson Boulevard, Dayton, OH 45479.  The event is free and open to the public.

The DRG3 partner organizations will report on where we are today and work with other community and business leaders to create an agenda for a sustainable future where our region can achieve social, economic and environmental sustainability in our Government, Residential and Business market sectors.

2012 DRG3 FORUM GOALS:

-        Bring together a diverse group of people vested in and dedicated to the Dayton Region to build on the progress of the DRG3 initiative and create an action plan to accelerate and enhance the positive, economic, social, and environmental impact of DRG3.

-        Establish regional boards and action teams for the Government, Residential, and Business sectors.

-        Start a process to streamline existing regional sustainability efforts to enable cross-pollination of ideas and practices.

In the fall of 2007, the Montgomery County Commissioners convened a public forum to identify strategies to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. From the formational meetings, the Dayton Regional Green 3 Task Force was developed. In 2011, Montgomery County initiated a Sustainability Center to support DRG3 initiatives with unique programs and tools. DRG3 has since established a Green Business Certification Program with free energy audits and exclusive rebates and an energy rating tool that will help commercial and residential building occupants evaluate their true energy costs.  In addition, DRG3 has established a strong web presence where sustainability information is made available to the public and the ever-increasing green certified businesses are showcased to the community, all the while creating a network for communication in one location, www.DRG3.org.
