ARC Hosting 2nd Vaccination Clinic - Sunday, January 29, 2012

Didn’t make it to the first vaccination clinic in December? Does your pet still need its annual vaccinations, but you cannot afford it? Here is your chance! The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center is hosting a second vaccination clinic on January 29, 2012. The ARC is able to do so thanks to the ASPCA’s Grant to Communities in Need.

In an effort to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters, the ASPCA has awarded the Animal Resource Center $5,000 for the vaccination of cats and dogs whose owners cannot afford yearly routine vaccinations.

"Many pet owners in our community are not able to afford routine vaccinations for their cats or dogs," says Mark Kumpf, Director of the Animal Resource Center. "Pets are like family and this has allowed us to help those who are struggling to keep their pets at home."

The event will be held at the Animal Resource Center located at 6790 Webster St. Dayton, OH 45414 on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 1:30p.m. – 3:30p.m.

Families with pets in need of routine vaccinations must show proof of public assistance or unemployment. The co-pay is $5 for one animal and $10 (total) for up to 5 animals.

Vaccinations are available for 200 animals so pet owners are encouraged to reserve a spot by contacting the Animal Resource Center. You can do so by calling (937) 898-4457 or e-mailing

In late October, the ASPCA announced that it would be pledging $100,000 to local animal shelters, private veterinarians and animal welfare organizations across the country to help fund affordable vaccination clinics in communities that need it most.
