Nominations Being Accepted for Brother Raymond Fitz Award

The Montgomery County Family and Children First Council will be accepting nominations for the 12th annual Brother Raymond L. Fitz S.M., Ph.D. Award until the nomination deadline, December 30, 2011. The award will honor someone who exemplifies Brother Ray’s dedication to the cause of nurturing and protecting children and families by his or her everyday efforts in the community.

The Montgomery County Family and Children First Council coordinates human services programs across the county.  Members include the heads of major public human services agencies, school superintendents, local elected officials, business leaders, non-profit representatives and community members.  The Council established this award to honor Brother Raymond L. Fitz, S.M., former president of the University of Dayton, for his years of leadership and service to the community.  Brother Fitz served as the first chair of the Council from 1996 to 1999.

The award will be given in February 2012.  The organizers of the award program are seeking a community member who has demonstrated a commitment to achieving positive results for the children and families with whom they work, who recognizes the value of teamwork, and who has persevered for the long haul and accomplished a lasting impact.

Nomination forms are available at the Office of Family and Children First, 451 West Third Street, 9th Floor, P.O. Box 972, Dayton, Ohio 45422 (phone 937-225-4684), public libraries, and can also be obtained on the website: www.fcfc.montco.org.
