National County Government Month

Montgomery County is celebrating National County Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to highlight county government programs and services for veterans, military service members and their families. The theme for this year’s celebration of NCGM is “Serving Our Veterans, Armed Forces and Their Families.”

The Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission is a county agency dedicated to serving Montgomery County veterans.

The agency provides two distinct services:

A full range of benefit and information services are provided for eligible veterans, their surviving spouses, and dependent children or parents through veterans' service officers and accredited veterans organizations.

During the month of April, the Veterans Service Commission will have a special display in the lobby of the Montgomery County Administration Building, 451 W. Third Street, Dayton, Ohio.

To learn more about the Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission, visit http://www.mcvsc.org or call (937) 225-4801.

Since 1991 the National Association of Counties (NACo) has encouraged counties across the country to raise public awareness and understanding about the roles and responsibilities of counties.
