| On May 29, 2009, Assistant Montgomery County Administrator Amy Wiedeman accepted the "Bill Lehman Memorial Award" from the National Animal Control Association.
The Bill Lehman Memorial Award is presented to someone not directly employed in the animal control field, but who has shown an exceptional awareness in animal control related matters which merit distinction. The recipient is recognized as a "friend" of animal control, for contributions and outstanding action that assisted in furthering the positive image of animal control professionals through local, state or national animal control associations.
Wiedeman has been with Montgomery County in various capacities for more than 25 years. The Animal Resource Center was placed under her direction approximately 5 years ago. During that time, she has been one of the most instrumental individuals in moving the agency forward to the position of prominence it enjoys today.
Wiedeman received her award at the NACA Annual Training Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.
