On Wednesday, December 3, 2008, Montgomery County's Stillwater Center unveiled its new "Art Gallery," showcasing the talents of its residents.  Three of the artists attended the reception:  Mysti Daniel, Andrew Martin, and David Speakman.

"The dedicated staff at Stillwater Center transformed this wall space into a showplace for our truly artistic residents," said Stillwater Center Director, Sue L. Curtis.  "We are so thrilled that our residents can now share their works of art with others."

Social Services Supervisor Gail Yates and Therapeutic Programming Coordinator Jane Detty-Jenk enlisted the help of Recreation Supervisor Jackie Williams and her staff to assist the residents in creating their art.  The pieces of art are being hung by Facility Services Supervisor Mark Warner and his staff.

Stillwater Center is a home for children and adults who have the most severe and profound mental retardation, are physically challenged and/or have significant medical needs.
