Montgomery County Auto Title Branch Offices to Process U.S. Passports

Montgomery County Clerk of Courts of Common Pleas, Gregory A. Brush, announced that the Montgomery County Auto Title branch offices will begin processing U.S. Passports once again beginning June 23, 2014 following nearly a year hiatus.  Passport operations were suspended in all but the downtown location at the request of the National Passport Center pending the designation of each branch office as an individual Passport Acceptance Facility.  In the past, the branch offices processed passports under the umbrella of the downtown location.

The primary business of the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts Auto Title Division is processing motorized vehicle titles.  “We began processing passport applications as a service to the citizens of Montgomery County over 20 years ago,” said Brush. “With locations in Centerville, Clayton, Huber Heights and West Carrollton, each Auto Title office is strategically situated to provide convenience of service throughout Montgomery County.”

“What separates the Auto Title passport operations from others in the area, in addition to multiple locations, is that we provide services during business hours six days per week, and an appointment is not necessary,” added Brush.  At any of the Auto Title offices, customers can walk-in six days a week and have the application process (including photo taken, questions answered, oath administered) complete within 45 minutes.

In 2012, the Auto Title offices in Montgomery County processed over 4,290 passport applications which equated to $452,859 for the National Passport Center.  When operations were suspended in 2013, “we were on track to at least mirror, but more likely to exceed last year’s numbers,” said Fiscal Manager Edie Marshall.

The Clerk of Courts office is recognized by the citizens of Montgomery County as the standard of excellence in public sector records management and customer service.
