Montgomery County Solid Waste District and The Kroger Co. Partner to Promote Earth Day

Join hundreds of Montgomery County schools, nonprofits, and other organizations for the annual Earth Day Groceries Project, and decorate paper grocery bags with environmental messages to celebrate Earth Day (April 22, 2014). The Montgomery County Solid Waste District has teamed up with The Kroger Co. to provide free paper grocery bags for participating organizations in Montgomery County.

To participate in this free activity, simply designate a coordinator and submit a Grocery Bag Request Form no later than Friday, March 21. Grocery Bag Request Forms are available by visiting www.mcswd.org, or by calling (937) 224-8086.

Return your decorated grocery bags to a local Kroger store no later than Friday, April 11, and your bags will be distributed to Kroger grocery shoppers during the week of Earth Day.

Established in 1994, the Earth Day Groceries Project is one of the oldest and largest online educational activities promoting environmental awareness. Last year, local organizations decorated more than 18,000 bags to share with local grocery shoppers.
