Free Farm Tire Disposal

From December 5 to December 7, 2013 the Montgomery County Solid Waste District will accept farm vehicle tires free of charge during the Farm Tire Recovery Program. The Montgomery County farming community is encouraged to take advantage of this free service to properly dispose of old farm vehicle tires. This free service is available to Montgomery County residents only and commercial entities or non-residents will be charged a fee based on the weight of their tires for disposal.

There is no limit on the number of farm tires that can be disposed and a valid driver's license is required to establish proof of Montgomery County residency. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency also requires a Tire Manifest for anyone transporting more than 10 tires per load.

Farms tires can be brought to the solid waste transfer station in Vandalia, located at 6589 Old Webster St., or to the solid waste transfer station in Moraine, located at 1001 Encrete Ln. Hours of operation for both locations are 6 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday – Friday, and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday.

For additional information regarding the Farm Tire Recovery Program, visit www.mcswd.org or call (937) 225-4999, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
