Environmental Fair Offers Services to Protect Public Health
On Oct. 1, Montgomery County Environmental Services will host the second annual Montgomery County Environmental Fair, featuring door prizes, educational exhibits, and free services.

Montgomery County residents who attend the fair can take advantage of the following free services:

 

• prescription drug disposal;

• radon testing kits;

• well water bacteria testing kits (first 50 people);

• well water nitrate/nitrite screening (residents must bring a sample of well water in a clean container);

• recycling of household electronics, computers, and televisions;

• and confidential document shredding and recycling.

 

“The Environmental Fair is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about, and to take advantage of, the excellent services we provide,” said Montgomery County Commission President Dan Foley. “By bringing all of these services together under one roof, we hope to increase awareness about protecting the environment and public health.”

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

 The Environmental Fair is sponsored by Montgomery County Environmental Services, in partnership with Ohio EPA, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County, Montgomery Soil and Water Conservation District, Regional Air Pollution Control Agency, Miami Conservancy District, Five Rivers Metro Parks, MONCO Enterprises, DGR3, and Goodwill Industries.
