Emergency Management Exercise - Wednesday, May 22, 2013

The Montgomery/Greene Counties Local Emergency Response Council (MGCLERC) is hosting a full-scale exercise on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.  This exercise will take place at several locations in the City of Dayton including the Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center, Miami Valley Hospital, the University of Dayton, and University of Dayton Arena.  This exercise will be conducted from 9 a.m. until Noon.

Exercise participants include the Dayton Regional Hazardous Materials Response Team, the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management, the University of Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital, the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, Public Health-Dayton & Montgomery County, the City of Dayton Fire Department and fire departments from surrounding communities.

Citizens should be aware that this is a controlled, full-scale exercise.  Citizens can expect to see emergency personnel and equipment in and around the University of Dayton campus, University of Dayton Arena and Miami Valley Hospital, responding as if this was a real emergency.

This mandated exercise is sponsored by the State Emergency Response Commission.
