"The Square is Where" Kicks off on Courthouse Square on Thursday, May 16th

The Square Is Where, which brings free lunchtime entertainment to the heart of downtown, is getting kicked up a notch this summer, with better entertainment, more games and activities, and new food vendors and seating options.

The Square Is Where kicks off from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16. Grab lunch from one of several food vendors on the Square, get carryout from one of downtown’s many eateries, or even brown bag it and enjoy your lunch at one of the new patio tables on the Square. Jim Bucher will emcee the kick off, and The Beatles tribute band Beatlejuice will perform.

Join your downtown colleagues for food and fun in the heart of our center city! The Square Is Where runs weekdays through late September. Games on the Square include three holes of golf, a 10-by-10-foot mat for playing chess and checkers, and cornhole.

The Square Squad will be helping organize business competitions on the Square, such as cornhole tournaments and other activities. Other planned events include fitness classes and special themed programming, such as a cultural arts week.

The Square Is Where is presented by the Downtown Dayton Partnership and Montgomery County, with support from KeyBank, Fifth Third Bank and PNC Bank. Call 937-224-1518 for more information. Follow The Square Is Where on Facebook (www.facebook.com/TheSquareIsWhere) for daily updates and entertainment schedules.
