Paul Gruner, P.E., P.S., Montgomery County Engineer, announced today that Yankee Street will be closed between Social Row Road/Austin Boulevard and Spring Valley Pike starting Monday, April 18th and lasting thru Friday, April 22nd, weather permitting, for the extension of a box culvert.
The City of Centerville and the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office are widening Yankee Street to three lanes from Social Row Road/Austin Boulevard to Winding Green Way, and the box culvert extension is a necessary part of the project. The general contractor for the project, Barrett Paving Materials, Inc., will be performing the construction.
A detour will be in place utilizing Spring Valley Pike, N Springboro Pike, and Austin Boulevard.
Yankee Street will be open to Winding Green Way from the north from Spring Valley Pike. Yankee Street will be open to Yankee Trace Golf Course from the south from Austin Boulevard/Social Row Road.
This will be the only full closure of the road for this widening project; traffic will be maintained for all other construction activities. The scheduled completion date for the project is December 31, 2016.
The patience of the public and their careful, safe driving during this period is greatly appreciated.
