    Emergency Guardianship

    NOTICE

The appointment of an emergency guardian is limited by Section 2111.02 of the Revised Code to circumstance where it is reasonably certain that immediate action is required to prevent significant injury to the person or estate of a minor or alleged incompetent person.  If immediate action is not required to prevent significant injury to the person or estate of a minor or alleged incompetent a regular guardianship application should be filed and a hearing will be set on the regular application as soon as possible.

If the application for the appointment of an emergency guardian does not demonstrate that immediate action is required to prevent significant injury to the person or estate of the minor or alleged incompetent the emergency guardianship application may be denied.
