Replacement of the Third Street Bridge over the Great Miami River

The Montgomery County Engineer’s Office is proposing to replace the Third Street bridge over the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton.  Construction is scheduled to begin in 2019.  The public is invited to an informational open house on Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission’s Center for Regional Cooperation, 1100 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45407.

A presentation will be given to explain the planned improvements, show potential effects to the immediate area during construction, present expected detour routes, and outline possibilities for aesthetic and architectural treatment of the bridge.  Attendees will have the opportunity to provide verbal and written comments regarding the project in general, as well as on the desired appearance of the replacement structure.

If you have questions prior to the meeting, please contact Joseph Dura of the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office at (937) 225-5507 or duraj@mcohio.org.
