Keith Receives Auditor of State Award

Montgomery County is one of seven counties in Ohio to earn the prestigious ‘Auditor of State Award with Distinction’ for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report completed in 2011.

Karl Keith, Montgomery County Auditor, accepted the award presented by Nicole Beckwith, regional liaison to Auditor of State Dave Yost, on December 15th at the Dayton RTA and Cultural Center.

“This award recognizes our commitment to good government and protecting tax dollars,” Keith said, “It is a testament to my staff and the cooperation we receive from other county officials.”

In order to receive the award, government offices must achieve clean and accurate record-keeping in their annual audit.  The financial report must not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings, or any questioned costs.
