Keith Appointed to BMV Study Group

Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith was recently appointed to serve on the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Study Group.  The Study Group's aim is to improve service and find efficiencies related to the issuance of vehicle registrations, driver's licenses, ID cards and vehicle titles.

House Bill 2, effective July 1st, created the BMV Study Group and the County Auditors' Association of Ohio (CAAO) chose Auditor Keith to represent them.  Keith is one of just eight county auditors in Ohio who operate a BMV branch office.  "I look forward to participating in the study group and finding ways to improve the BMV's public service," Keith said.

The group will meet twice a month in Columbus and submit a report to the Governor and state legislature at the end of this year.  "Hopefully, this committee will find some efficiencies and remedies to bring to the Governor and State House," Keith said.

In addition to his duties on the BMV Study Group, Auditor Keith also serves on the CAAO Legislative Committee, Chairs the CAAO Southwest Ohio Legislative Committee, Chairs the CAAO Property Tax and Valuation Committee, serves on the CAAO Financials Committee and was recognized as a Distinguished County Auditor in June of 2009.
